Once extinct in the wild, but rescued from the brink by captive breeding efforts, the PRZEWALSKI’S HORSE now inhabit the steppes of China and Mongolia. Listed as endangered, this subspecies is considered to be the world’s only truly wild horse.
Here are some groups working to ensure this species continued survival – FPPPH / National Zoo
ON THE EDGE is a series featuring creatures with one foot precariously dangling over that great gully of extinction, who now unfortunately must look to us to tug them back onto stable ground.
If you are even slightly intrigued by any of the animals in this collection please, follow the links and learn a bit more. I promise, these creatures are worth it. Hope you enjoy the series and thank you for the support.
